What is the appropriateness assessment?

Appropriateness assessment for Derivatives

Before you can access Derivatives on our platform, we are required by regulation to carry out an appropriateness assessment. This is a short set of questions about your education, knowledge and experience with financial products.

Why am I asked these questions?

OKX Europe Markets Limited provides execution-only services. This means we do not offer personal investment advice, assess your financial situation or make recommendations based on your goals. What we are required to assess is whether you have sufficient knowledge and experience to understand the risks of complex derivative products, such as X-Perps and Expiry Futures. The assessment is designed to determine whether these products are appropriate for you based on your knowledge and experience.

What does execution-only mean?

It means OKX will execute the trades you instruct us to make, but we will not advise you on whether a particular trade or product is right for you. The decision to trade is yours.

What happens if I do not complete the assessment?

You will not be able to access the relevant derivative products on OKX until you complete the required assessment. This is a regulatory requirement and cannot be bypassed.Assessment requirements may vary by product. Some products may require a separate assessment or additional eligibility checks before you can access them.

What should I keep in mind before answering?

Please answer all questions honestly and accurately. The assessment only works as intended if your answers reflect your actual knowledge and experience.Derivative products can involve leverage and other risks. Leverage can amplify both gains and losses, and losses can occur quickly. Make sure you understand how the product you want to trade works and the risks involved before opening a position.Disclaimer: Derivatives are complex financial products and may involve leverage. Leverage can amplify gains and losses, and losses may occur quickly. These products may not be suitable for all investors.
