Affiliate FAQ

This FAQ covers how affiliate attribution and invitee fee rebates work for OKX users in the EEA — how to check which affiliate you're bound to, how the fee rebate is paid, how to change your affiliate, and how to become an affiliate yourself.

Your affiliate attribution

How do I check which affiliate I'm bound to?

Go to User CenterAccount informationInvite perks.

  • If Invite perks is there, you're bound to an affiliate. The page shows both your Invite code — the code your account is currently bound to — and your Rebate rate, the fee rebate that currently applies.

  • If Invite perks isn't there, you aren't bound to any affiliate.

Note: the page shows the invite code, not the identity of the affiliate behind it.

I forgot to enter a referral code when I signed up. Can I add it now?

Invite codes only take effect during sign-up and can't be added retroactively once your account exists. If you want to be bound to an affiliate, use the rebind flow instead — check How do I change the affiliate I'm bound to? above.

Yes. Registering through a campaign landing page that carries a channelId establishes your attribution to that channel.

Note: attribution and fee rebate are two separate things. Being attributed to a channel doesn't mean that channel has set up a rebate. Check your Rebate rate at User CenterAccount informationInvite perks.

Can I close my account and register again so I can use a referral code?

Don't do this. Closing your account and re-registering in order to use a referral code may be treated as a violation and can affect your account and your reward eligibility.

Fee rebates

What is the invitee fee rebate?

Some affiliate invite codes carry a fee rebate. If yours does, a share of the trading fee from each of your eligible trades is returned to you automatically. You don't need to switch anything on.

Why is my rebate less than my stated rebate rate?

Your rebate rate is correct. It applies to your net trading fee — not to the total fee shown on the trade.Your net trading fee on a trade is the fee you paid, less any rebate paid to the other side of that trade. Where the other side received no rebate, your net trading fee is the full fee you paid and your rebate is calculated on all of it.

For a specific order, contact OKX Support with the order ID.

Which trades earn a rebate for EEA users?

Where the invite code you are bound to carries a fee rebate, the rebate is calculated on your net trading fee on eligible spot and Future trades. Buy, Sell, and Convert transactions do not qualify.Rebate availability and coverage depend on your country of residence as recorded on your OKX account. Where local regulatory requirements apply, the following exceptions apply:

Country of residence

Rebate coverage

Netherlands (NL)

Spot trades only. Future trades do not qualify.

Malta (MT)

Spot trades only. Future trades do not qualify.

Spain (ES)

The fee rebate is not available.

In Spain, the fee rebate is not available regardless of the rate an affiliate has configured on the invite code.

Coverage may change. Where this article and the Affiliate Programme Terms differ, the Terms prevail.

My rebate rate shows 0%. How do I activate it?

There's nothing to activate. Not every affiliate invite code includes a fee rebate — whether one is offered, and at what rate, is set by each channel. A rate of 0% means the channel you're bound to hasn't set up a rebate.

We can't change this or apply it retroactively on the affiliate's behalf. If you signed up because of a rate a channel advertised, go back to that channel and ask them either to set the rebate rate on the invite code you used, or to share the link that actually carries that rate.

Do maker and taker trades earn different rebates?

No. The rebate rate is the same for maker and taker trades — it's calculated on your net trading fee. Maker and taker differ in their trading fee rates, which is separate from the rebate. See the fee schedule for those rates.

Are corporate (KYB) accounts eligible?

Yes. The invitee fee rebate works the same way for individual and corporate accounts. Whether you receive a rebate depends on the rate the affiliate configured on the invite code you registered with, not on your account type.

Changing the affiliate you're bound to

How do I change the affiliate I'm bound to?

One prerequisite has to be met first: the affiliate you want to join must have Win Back Invitation available in their affiliate portal, under Marketing Centre → Reconnect users. If they don't, nothing you do on your side will succeed.

There are 2 ways to submit the request:

Option 1 — Win Back Invitation link (recommended). Ask the affiliate to create a Win Back Invitation link and send it to you, then:

  1. Open the link and sign in to your OKX account.

  2. Check the invite code. It's filled in automatically from the link and can't be edited.

  3. Enter your reason for joining and submit the request.

Option 2 — Self-service rebind page. Open this link and enter the affiliate's numeric channel ID yourself. This is the same page for every user — it isn't specific to you or to any affiliate.

Either way, the system checks your eligibility automatically. Requests are normally processed within 24 hours, and you'll be notified once a decision is made.

Note: support can't manually assign or change your attribution, and a submitted request can't be cancelled.

I only know the community name or the invite code. Where do I find the channel ID?

Ask the affiliate directly for their channel ID — a string of digits they can look up in their own affiliate portal. An invite code, a referral code, or a community name won't work in the rebind form, and entering one is the most common reason a request fails. If you use a Win Back Invitation link, you don't need the channel ID at all — the correct invite code is filled in automatically.

How do I check whether my rebind went through?

24 hours after submitting, check it yourself at User CenterAccount informationInvite perks.

  • If the Invite code shown is the one you applied for, the rebind succeeded.

  • If it's still your old code, or Invite perks isn't there, the rebind didn't go through.

We also send you a notification once your request has been processed.

How soon can I submit another rebind request?

There's a 30-day cooling-off period counted from the day you submit. You can submit it again once a full 30 days have passed, whatever the outcome of the first request. Submitting repeatedly won't speed anything up.

What are the eligibility conditions for rebinding?

The system checks eligibility automatically against a standard set of rules, and we don't publish the individual conditions. Conditions circulating outside OKX aren't an official source — don't use them to judge whether you qualify.

Will rebinding change my fee tier?

No. Your affiliate attribution and your fee rebate are separate from your fee tier — your VIP and volume tier are unaffected by rebinding.

Will I keep my rebate after rebinding?

Your rebate after rebinding depends on whether the affiliate you newly bind to has set up a fee rebate, and at what rate. Rebinding doesn't carry your previous channel's rebate over to the new one, so confirm with the target affiliate before you submit.

Can I still claim the new user bonus after rebinding?

New user bonus tasks are counted from your registration date, not your rebind date. Rebinding doesn't restart the clock, so if the task window has already closed, it stays closed.

Becoming an affiliate

How do I become an OKX affiliate?

There are 2 routes:

  • Apply on the website by clicking here. The relevant team reviews your application manually and notifies you of the outcome.

  • Auto-upgrade to affiliate. Once you reach 5 valid invitees, we upgrade you automatically, with no separate eligibility review. This is normally the faster route.

How are affiliate rewards calculated?

The Affiliate Programme supports 2 incentive models in Europe, subject to jurisdictional availability:

  • Commission-based (CPS, Cost Per Sale) — rewards are calculated on the eligible trading fees generated by invitees sourced from applicable jurisdictions.

  • Trading volume-based (TVB) — rewards are calculated on the eligible trading volume sourced from applicable jurisdictions.

What counts as a valid invitee for the auto-upgrade?

A valid invitee has to complete identity verification (KYC) and trade at least 50 USDC. Signing up alone doesn't count.

How long does the manual review take?

Review times vary and we don't publish a fixed turnaround. You'll be notified once a decision is made.

Which details should I have ready when I apply?

  • Your social media accounts — X, Telegram, YouTube, Instagram, and others.

  • Your audience size on each platform.

  • The monthly trading volume of your current partners on other centralised exchanges.

  • A contact where you can be reached.
